All books and media available in the library can be found here, whether printed or digital:

On the ground floor and on the first floor you can find current books classified by subject. We offer important textbooks several times and/or as e-books. We also collect bachelor and master theses on our repository.

You can easily take (almost) all of our books off the shelf and borrow them and return them later using our self-check system. The loan period is four weeks. You can renew the loan period up to three times after that (if nobody else reserves the book).

Before borrowing for the first time you need to activate your HCU-card as a library card. Please fill out the form on our website. Then present your identity card (or passport plus registration of residence “Meldebescheinigung”) and HCU-card to us at the service desk. Alternatively, you can send us a scan of your identity card and your HCU card (front and back). Please use your HCU email address for this purpose.

We are showing you on the learning platform moodle how to registrate via the website and how to use the library account:

-> Library Card and Library Account

You can access our licensed e-books, e-journals and databases within the HCU network. If you want to get access from outside, you have to login via VPN or Shibboleth. You simply need your HCU ID and password.
